The intersection of Olive St and Western Ave is a very busy intersection located in South Bend, Indiana. Misaligned and lacking needed turn lanes, the current intersection is inefficient and sometimes dangerous.  After assessing the traffic and safety needs of the intersection, the appropriate lanes and queue lengths will be determined. The City of South Bend is acquiring the property on the Northwest corner, allowing for an expansion of the intersection or addition of lanes.  Plans and specifications will be produced so that this improvement can occur within the next year.
